Gloria Berthold will be featured on the May 2007 television program. "Down to Business” is a monthly half-hour program that covers the diversity of concerns, people and issues of the Howard County business community, which debuted in October 2006. Sponsored by j-ref, The Business Monthly and Optivor Technologies, the program is hosted by j-ref Executive Director, Michael Mobley.
Headquartered in the Center for Business & Technology Development in Columbia, Maryland, j-ref is a private, not-for-profit funding source for Howard County start-up and emerging companies. Support for the j-ref program (www.jref.org) is available through partnerships with Howard County government, Howard County Economic Development Authority, Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce, local financial institutions, and the local business community. In addition to offering business loans up to $250,000, j-ref works through its strategic partners to offer assistance to small and emerging companies in the areas of business advice, planning, and education.
The targeted audience is small businesses, Howard County Chamber members, politicians, bankers, CPAs, business publications, entrepreneurs, and business students.
Host Mobley is a highly motivated, experienced and energetic business executive with over 20 years experience in finance, strategic planning and operations that facilitated growth, market share and profitability for various businesses. This was accomplished by leading the development of a vision and mission, while communicating business objectives, along with facilitating and motivating multi-functional groups to develop the strategies and implement the tactics to reach these goals.
